Beautiful Berry. We love your history and rolling green hills, your country-village charm and tree-lined streets framing bustling cafes and restaurants. We love your sophisticated homewares stores full of one-off pieces made by artisans from across the globe, your quirky boutiques, places to browse endlessly or to just sit down with a chilled beer, freshly squeezed juice or steaming hot mug of coffee. And let's be honest. There’s nothing that kicks off a day in quite the same way as a good cup of coffee. So let’s cut to the chase. Where in Berry do you find a good brew with a simple side of delicious sweet stuff or interesting food that caters to every taste bud?

IV Coffee (takeaway)

IV Coffee is our first choice for early morning coffee on-the-go. Owner Nick has kept the offering simple, focusing on fantastic coffee with a select range of sweet treats coupled with fast, friendly service. Their simply delicious coffee beans come from ONA whose sole mission is to create the best and most sustainable coffee in the world. ONA is driven by community, innovation and excellence which means connecting great people with great coffee, and leaving a greener world for future generations. That represents a couple of biggies in Nick’s book and ours too. And for those not seduced by coffee, there’s hot chocolate, tea and chai as well.

Open M-F 6am - 2pm and weekends 7am-2pm

Hungry Monkey

White Horse Coffee served first thing in the morning? Check. A low-GI breakfast, with avocado, cavolo nero, broccolini, pearl barley, sprouts, low-fat cottage cheese on rye sourdough, free-range eggs and activated seeds? Check. Oven-baked hotcakes? Check. A Southern fried-chicken burger with red cabbage, Monterey Jack cheese and jalepeños, with a cheeky schooner of Young Henrys? That’s definitely a check. Find the Monkey in a quaint, white-painted building just off main street. Pull up a chair on the porch or in the welcoming, minimalist dining room, which is always abuzz with the friendliest of waitstaff. PS We’ve chosen to provide White Horse Coffee at Linnaeus Farm and Far Meadow Farm.

The Garden

https://www.thegardenberry.com.au/

Maybe it's sautéed mushrooms with white miso, mushy peas on sourdough toast with a squeeze of lemon, or free-range eggs, house-smoked Tasmanian ocean trout, dill, deep fried capers on organic sourdough toast. Maybe it’s rhubarb compote, roast pear, ricotta or vegan yoghurt, candied walnuts and mint on sourdough toast. Whatever your choice, it will be created with fresh, seasonal produce sourced locally wherever possible. Enjoy that and your Daily Grind coffee in the relaxed, all-weather, dog-friendly garden courtyard or one of the delightful dining spaces inside the beautiful two-story heritage building.

Open every day for breakfast, lunch, coffee and cakes and there’s afternoon grazing, happy hour and dinner each Friday and Saturday too. The Garden is also fully licensed.

Milkwood Bakery

https://milkwoodbakery.com.au/

Here you’ll find the full range of Berry Organic Sourdough breads as well as olive flatbread, fruit loaf, baguettes, fig and walnut loaf, levain blanc and pane pugliese.

Then there are the tarts - chocolate almond pear tart, apple tart, macadamia nut tart, caramel hazelnut tart, strawberry custard tart plus lemon yoghurt tea cake, flourless orange cake, friands and so much more.  The coffee is Single O which always has a focus on fresh ideas and innovation like The Juggler, a world-first purpose built café milk-on-tap system they had a hand in, which has saved over 18 million plastic bottles from the waste stream, so far. Win!

Open every day from 6am-3pm.

Tea-totaller? The Berry Tea Shop is the place to go.

https://www.theberryteashop.com.au/

Inspired by their love of tea and ‘the very British tradition of sitting down to a good cuppa, preferably with a nice bit of cake’, owners Paulina and Cliff opened the Berry Tea Shop in 2010. It now boasts more than 48 varieties of tea, hand-blended in Berry with ingredients sourced from across the globe. As well as wanting you to see their beautifully packaged teas in-store, together with a curated collection of teawares, accessories, gifts and dessert cook books, they’d like you to slow down and take the time to sit in their boutique cafe and enjoy a cuppa with a choice of delicious scones, biscuits and cakes, all made lovingly by Cliff. Yes please to that!

Monday - Thursday 10am to 4.30pm

Friday - Sunday 10am - 5pm
